CNWL’s Tissue Viability Nurse Consultant, Luxmi Dhoonmoon has developed a vodcast with The Confederation Hillingdon, which offers advice on pressure ulcer prevention.
Luxmi discusses the signs and symptoms to look for, including individual skin tones, as well as how to avoid one. She also indicates the use of SSKIN, an acronym used for holistic care in pressure ulcer prevention.
In the vodcast she says:
“Our healthcare professionals are well equipped to identify pressure ulcers, especially in the early stages. Contact your GP or the District Nursing team immediately. Don’t wait for it to deteriorate. Seek help early so you can prevent it.”
