This June, CNWL Arts in Health worked with the Saatchi Gallery’s learning team to host a guided tour of their ‘Civilisation’ exhibition and an ‘Art of the Future workshop' for our participants.
Civilization is a landmark exhibition that tracks the visual threads of humanity’s ever-changing, extraordinarily complex life across the globe, through the eyes of 150 of the world’s most accomplished photographers. Participants were enthralled and inspired by the diverse histories represented in the pictures we saw and stories we heard.
After viewing the exhibition across six different rooms, our participants were then guided through an ‘out-of-this world’ workshop, exploring our predictions, hopes, and fantasies for the future of humanity. Participants worked across collage, drawing, and poetry to create some fantastic responses to their imagined future.
