This February, the CNWL Arts in Health team and participants visited Two Temple Place to go on a private building tour and explore their current “Inside” exhibition.

The exhibit showcases 10 contemporary artists working in direct response to the building through the mediums of sculpture, installation, painting, photography, VR and film. The eccentric architecture of Two Temple Place and its complex historic narratives shaped the variety of artwork created.

Our participants were invited to create their own artwork and writing in response to both the building itself, and the artwork we saw. Some participants responded to patterns and textures present in the building, while others reflected on the motifs and symbols present in the artwork, like that of insects and mythical creatures. It was a wonderful to be able to explore the building while it was closed to the general public, with great feedback from participants.
