For our summer art visit, CNWL Arts in Health journeyed to the Wellcome Collection to see the collection’s 'Rooted Beings' and ‘Medicine Man’ exhibitions.

Rooted Beings

A temporary multi-artist exhibition that meditatively reflects on the world of plants and fungi, and considers what we might learn from plant behaviour, and the impacts of colonial expeditions on the misuse of natural resources and indigenous knowledge.

Rooted Beings’ asks if we can become more rooted, attentive, flexible and caring – and attain 'vegetal enlightenment.' Plants sustain life on earth. They are sensitive, complex and interconnected beings, playing surprisingly active roles in ecosystems and human societies.

Medicine Man

A permanent exhibition, 'Medicine Man' shows extraordinary examples of the many ways in which people, through time and across cultures, have sought to understand the workings of the human body, to protect themselves, and care for one another.

Our participants and staff greatly enjoyed the experience of visiting the Wellcome Collection and seeing how mental and physical health intersects with creativity and art to make fascinating and thrilling exhibitions.
