CNWL set this Group up to help us understand the experiences of people during Covid, and how CNWL services could meet the needs of the communities it services.

Each month we bring together experts by experience, people leading on community engagement and coproduction and local groups like Healthwatch, to share views and work together to take action.

Feedback from patients, carers and members of the public has so already led to:

  • Better support for unpaid carers, via the award winning Check in and Chat Service
  • Improved access to IT equipment and training, via our digital inclusion team
  • The sharing of good practice around supporting people with Long Covid
  • Increased focus on community engagement, coproduction and reducing health inequalities.

You can find out more by reading the Covid Coproduction Meeting minutes on our patient and carer involvement page.

There are many other ways in which patients, carers and members of the public can get involved in CNWL, whether you want to help us select the best people to join our workforce, train staff, join a Quality Improvement project, take part in a one off focus group or join a committee to change our practice.

To find out more, visit our web page. Some of our involvement opportunities require people to have had experience using services as either a patient or carer, but we are increasing our public involvement too so please feel free to join our register, whatever your situation and we will see what opportunities are the best fit for you!
