Dr Guy Harman (pictured), is to be the Professional Lead Psychologist for Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) services across CNWL.

Guy Harman.jpgDr Chris Whitely, CNWL’s Chief Psychologist, says, “This is a great appointment. Guy, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, has many years’ experience and expertise working in mental health services for Older People. He has a clear passion for delivering excellence in care for Older People and a compassionate and collaborative approach to leadership.  Guy is well respected and valued by his colleagues in mental health services for Older People and the wider Trust.”

Guy takes on this role at an extremely exciting time for services, with an ambitious transformation programme progressing well across all our services for Older People.

He says, “I really enjoy hearing about people’s rich lives and the fantastic resources they quite often already have (but which might not be recognised) and thinking with them and their families about how we can work together to work around the challenges they face.”

“Like so many people who work in mental health settings, I’m also driven by equality and can’t bear to see and hear about the health and social inequalities so many people face in later life. I always hope that through my work as a clinician, and in more recent times as a clinical lead, I can help influence change for the better for older people.”

Alongside this part time role Guy will continue in his roles as the Strategic Clinical Lead for Hillingdon OPMH services, and in working clinically in the Borough services
