CNWL Employment Services help people who access mental health and addiction services in getting and keeping a job, and see it as an important part of their recovery.
The service and some of its clients attended a LinkedIn workshop hosted by Microsoft on 21 January 2020. The practical workshop focused on using LinkedIn to increase employ-ability for people who have been out of work for a large period of time.
Susan Holtom, Employment Services Team Leader said:
"I was keen to explore the potential of the LinkedIn for our employment service clients who are ready to return to paid employment and actively looking for a job.
Increasingly, job searching takes place online and our clients need good digital skills to fully exploit this. Online platforms like LinkedIn enable job seekers to connect with employers and apply for jobs that might not be advertised elsewhere. We organised the workshop to boost our clients’ confidence in using LinkedIn to help them secure their dream jobs. Feedback was very positive and one client even applied for a job on LinkedIn during the workshop!
We are already planning the next workshop, to strengthen the work of our Employment Specialists in engaging with employers on behalf of our clients."
