Today CNWL says farewell to our Head of Social Work and Social Care/ Safeguarding Adults Lead, Karen Cook.

Helen Willetts, Director of Nursing for Goodall said, “Karen's interventions in Goodall has involved the joint management of complex safeguarding issues with local authority partners. When the division has needed to negotiate ways forward for vulnerable families or when there has been a serious incident Karen has been there for support. The divisional safeguarding team and leads across the services are so grateful for her skilled guidance and advocacy and her words of wisdom.”

Karen first joined the Trust back in 2006 and will now move on to a new national role where she will continue to support mental health and social work in the NHS.

Karen said:

“I am so grateful for my 15 years at CNWL and especially my last 5 years as the Head of Social Work and Social Care/Safeguarding Adult Lead. I have valued the commitment to working in partnership within CNWL – with people who use services, their carers, local communities and partner agencies including local authorities. I wish everyone well for the future and keeping the people we serve at the heart of everything we do. I will miss my colleagues greatly - many of whom I now class as my friends.”

Karen you will be missed and thank you for all that you have done with CNWL.
