The CNWL BAME Staff Network are inviting staff to the second virtual conference on Tuesday 24 May from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

The theme this year is focused on empowering staff to succeed and feel valued – everyone is welcome to attend. The half day conference will be hosted on Zoom with a range of guest speakers:

Dr Calvin Moorley is a Professor for Diversity & Social Justice, Adult Nursing Department at London South Bank University. His research focuses on the interplay of gender, culture ethnicity and health. His secondary education was completed in Trinidad & Tobago his birth nation. Since graduating from the University of Essex as an adult registered nurse, Calvin has followed a clinical academic career, remaining close to clinical nursing, particularly in the critical care environment.

Jacqui Dyer.jpgDr Jacqui Dyer MBE 

Jacqui is an independent health and social care consultant, with lived experience, and a background in adult mental health commissioning as well as community and family social work. Jacqui was vice chair of England's Mental Health Taskforce, which collaboratively developed the 5 Year Forward View for Mental Health (NHSE) and its transformation of mental health service policy and provision. She is an elected Councillor; cabinet member for jobs, skills and community safety having previously jointly held the health and adult social care cabinet portfolio.

There will also be a chance to hear latest information on the NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) presented by the London Equality and Inclusion Team, NHS England and NHS Improvement.

The half day conference is open to CNWL staff members only. Colleagues have the opportunity to join break out rooms addressing career progression and development, safety in the workplace or taking part in some wellbeing mindfulness.
