CNWL staff were invited to join a virtual session to celebrate Carers Rights Day, co-hosted by the BAME Staff Network and Carers at Work (CAW) Network.

The research shows that BAME carers provide more care proportionately than White British carers, putting them at greater risk of ill-health, loss of paid employment and social exclusion. Certain groups also experience greater levels of isolation, namely Pakistani and Bangladeshi carers (Carers UK).   varsha carers.PNG

If you missed the session, you can watch back the recording from the two links below:

Hannah Witty, Chief Finance Officer and Executive Sponsor of CNWL’s Carers at Work staff network welcomed staff and thanked them for joining.hannah.PNG

Sarah Hulme, Co-chair of CNWL Carers at Work Staff Network answered questions from participants around support for carers in the workplace and how to access it.

The aim of the session was to discuss being a BAME Carer at Work and learn more around the support CNWL provides as a Trust.

In attendance was Professor Dorothy Griffiths, CNWL Chair, BAME staff network co-chairs and the Keeping Well (NWL) service.sarah carers.PNG

The Keeping Well Service provides wellbeing and psychological support to NHS staff, volunteers and those providing care to others in the community (including carers, care home staff) and GPs. If you need further support as a carer you can live chat to a wellbeing professional.

If you’re a CNWL staff member and want to find out more to join the Carers at Work network, search ‘Carers’ on Trustnet.
