Spring is finally here with longer days and sunnier weather. The Easter holidays brought families together and many more will get together in the coming weeks to celebrate Eid.

This time together with our loved ones, no matter what the celebration, is something that felt so far away just a couple of years ago.

Looking back and returning to more difficult times can be hard but it’s a reminder of what matters to us, what we should hold dear, and shows the resilience we all possessed, as despite restrictions we still found a way to connect.

Christmas 2021 at Beatrice Place:

In December, the NHS was asked to increase its capacity in giving Covid-19 boosters to the vulnerable. Theatres and other hospitality venues began to close due to staff shortages caused by isolation from a positive Covid-19 test. Inpatient wards were closed from outside visitors.

At the time, Taiwo Okesami said:

“During the festive season, we decided to bring staff and patients together to rejuvenate and thank our staff for their commitment and hard work. From holding a special carolling event, to adding special touches, Srishti Mahhajan, always setting the bar beyond what is reasonable inspired a new burst of collaborative creativity."

Srishti Mahhajan, Community Response volunteer said:

“Innovation drives changes and makes them a reality, thus, combining festivities with Bollywood dancing links individuals, patients and organisations as never before. It’s an extraordinary time for modernisation where not only technology forms the foundation of innovation, but motivating and engaging employees contribute to co- creation for a sustainable future.”

If you leave with one message from reading this, then let it be this: Get together with a loved one or go out and meet new people. Human connections, whether we get nervous at the thought of them or not, is what we all need so, enjoy Eid, enjoy the coronation and every birthday.
