Ruben_Seetharamdoo.jpgRuben Seetharamdoo and Becky Harris are new area managers for CNWL’s addictions services.

The roles will provide further management support and came about because of the continuous expansion of Addiction services.

Ruben will have particular responsibility for Hounslow, Brent and Hillingdon services part of the addictions services while Becky will be responsible for Ealing, Milton Keynes, Gambling and Gaming services as well as the Club Drug Clinic.

Ruben has more than 20 years of experience working in addictions services, which has included working in the private sector and internationally in the USA.

He has been working for CNWL for more than 15 years across substance misuse services in a variety of roles.

He has been Lead Nurse and Sector Manager in various boroughs including Hammersmith and Fulham, Hillingdon, Brent and Hounslow.

Ruben has a passion for health coaching and staff wellbeing and is the author of a book on well-being entitled “51/2 Ways to Well-being”.

He said: “I enjoy working in addictions because it is very rewarding to see clients get back to a healthy, productive and enjoyable lifestyle”

“As area manager I will be able to use my expertise to work in partnership with all who use our services to support recovery through high quality healthcare, civility and personal support.”

Rebecca Harris.jpgBecky has more than 25 years’ experience in the NHS as well as voluntary and private settings.

She qualified as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist in 2004, when she joined the CNWL Meanwhile Family Therapy Service.

Since then she has worked in a number of CWNL Addictions services, providing both inpatient and community treatment to people and their families dealing with a wide range of substance and behavioural addictions.

She is currently the Service Manager at the CNWL National Problem Gambling Clinic, the newly established National Centre for Gaming Disorders and the innovative Club Drug Clinic.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist, Becky worked in the film industry as an Assistant Director.

Becky said: “I have always enjoyed working in Addictions. We see people with a vast range of life experience and have a strong track record of service user involvement.  With my family therapy background I also feel strongly about including carers and affected others. 

 “I feel privileged to have managed and helped develop some really innovative and cutting-edge services.  I am excited to use this experience in my new role.”
