CNWL’s Milton Keynes 0 – 19 Service has been awarded with its Stage 2 UNICEF UK Baby Friendly accreditation.
The initiative is a staged accreditation programme that allows services to support families with feeding and help parents build a loving relationship with their baby.
The stage 2 focuses on empowering staff with the skills and knowledge to support infant feeding and parent-infant relationship building.
Bev Shaw, Children’s Service’s Manager for the service said: “It’s been a long and hard journey for the service but our BFI lead and the health visiting team have worked really hard to embed the standards and undertake training in readiness for this important assessment. The service is now working towards Stage 3.”
The 0 – 19 Service is available for all pregnant women, children, families and young people in Milton Keynes. All its services are provided within the integrated 0-19 team and include Health Visiting and School Nursing. It aims to help to empower parents, children and young people to make decisions that affect their and their family’s health, development and wellbeing.
