Today (7 December) CNWL Camden services are welcoming a new app for people who have post-Covid 19 symptoms.

‘Living With Covid Recovery’ is a new interactive digital platform between patients and clinicians to support those experiencing Post-Covid Syndrome.

The app, developed by Living With, a digital health company, is the first to not only form part of the recovery pathway for patients but which also provides a clinician interface and dashboard for careful monitoring and support as well as two-way messaging between patient and clinician. It is already being used by patients from Barts Health hospital who have been discharged but are continuing to recover and rehabilitate at home.

Patients will be able to log onto the app each day and select from a range of topics and questions that are relevant to them and their recovery. Over time it will create a picture of the patient’s recovery, and clinicians will be able to make recommendations to support.

Based on the information provided, it will flag up when patients need support from clinicians.

This new digital tool may be used as part of patient’s referral to community services from the acute specialist Covid clinics.

Patients will be referred to CNWL’s Camden Integrated Adult Services via a newly-created Post-Covid Syndrome pathway by a clinician in the acute specialist Covid clinic. The Clinician in Camden IAS will support the patient in their recovery journey and ensure that they receive the support required.

What will the app feature?

  • Clinicians will have immediate access to any data users have entered
  • Direct communication with clinicians via messaging in the app
  • Clinician will be able to provide information patients to support their recovery

Communication between patients and clinicians is confidential. All data and messages used in the app are encrypted and confidential.

Users of the app can contribute to a growing body of pseudonymised data to help understand what Post-Covid syndrome is and how to best support similar people to recover from it.

The app will be available to download from Apple Store and Android Store.
