It’s “Great Big Green Week” (https://greatbiggreenweek.com/) and we want to give you a taste of an exciting development, next to the Mental Health Unit.

Our Green Group formed this year, and we started in Harrow. We comprise clinicians from different backgrounds, concerned that in the face of an existential catastrophe we are still chucking away huge amounts of plastic, keeping the radiators on, and using polystyrene cups.

We want our Trust to move faster and bolder on sustainability.

At the same time, we are working on local initiatives, and the first of these is the Northwick Park Wildlife Garden. We aim to transform the waste ground next to the MHU into a fully rewilded area, for the benefit of both staff and patients.

We’re ready to go and have a detailed plan that includes marsh marigolds, lesser spearwort and orange foxtail grass! Soon we will need your help as well, getting spades into soil, planting and even digging a pond. Everyone, both with and without gardening experience, is welcome to join us.

We’ll have more news in the few months.

So, watch this (Green) space….
