Andy Tak Leung, a nurse, in our CAMHS Team has died after a long period of illness.
He was a highly regarded and valuable member of our Out of Hours CAMHS team.
He was a compassionate man who dedicated his life to the care of others.
Before coming to children services, he had worked many years with adults and was well known and respected in his own mental health teams and by our colleagues at St Mary’s and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals.
Andy was an inspiration to those that knew him. He epitomised all of the values we would want a mental health nurse to be and yet he gave more; his respect for young people, their families, the professionals he worked with and his kindness were valued by those whose lives he touched.
He is a great loss to all of us who knew known; he will always be remembered in our hearts.
Our thoughts are with his family and partner Jackie. A book of Remembrance, to be shared with them, has been started and anyone who wants to add a tribute should contact c.vaziri@nhs.net; details of his funeral will be shared later.
