As national restrictions have ended and we enjoy activities like going to the theatre and spending time with loved ones we haven’t seen in many months, a new government campaign has launched reminding the public of the simple steps to follow to help ensure everyone stays safe.
It’s understandable people want to return to normal as soon as possible, but Covid-19 is still with us and those who have been fully vaccinated can still pass on the virus to another person.
These simple steps are all things everyone has done over the course of the pandemic, but continuing to do them at certain times will help reduce the spread of Covid-19 as national restrictions end.
See the list of steps you can follow:
- booking your first or second vaccine if eligible without delay
- meeting outside if you can
- letting fresh air into enclosed spaces
- regular twice weekly testing
- taking a PCR test even if you only have mild symptoms
- checking in to venues using the NHS COVID-19 app
- washing hands often and carrying hand sanitiser
- wearing face masks when in close proximity to others and distancing is not possible, particularly in enclosed spaces such as public transport or small shops
Watch the video from Dr Amir Khan below about these simple steps below.
Together we can help keep everyone safe while being able to see the people we love and do the activities we enjoy.
