We know that the impact of suicide is devastating for families, communities and for those who are involved in delivering someone’s care; it has long lasting effects on those left behind.

We invite you to join us on Wednesday 30 November, to mark the launch of CNWL’s Suicide Prevention and Self-Harm Strategy. The strategy outlines our commitment and the actions we are taking to prevent suicide in the people that we care for.

Professor Louis Appleby, (Director, National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health and Lead for the National Suicide Prevention Strategy for England) will be joining us as keynote speaker, to talk about the current national picture, themes and trends, and to share the key clinical recommendations that are known to prevent suicide and make a difference to people’s lives.

We have a range of external and internal speakers, including an expert by experience, who will share her inspiring story, the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, who will share their experience of service transformation to become a collaborative community focused NHS service, and we will also hear about the impact of suicide on staff and how to access help and support.

Stigma continues to surround suicide, preventing people speaking about their mental health and silences those most in need of help.

Let’s get talking….
