We have produced a video to inform women of child bearing age about the medication Valproate.

Valproate is used to treat epilepsy and bi-polar disorder and shouldn’t be prescribed to women of child-bearing age unless they are on the Valproate Pregnancy Prevent Programme.

This applies to girls of any age and women capable of becoming pregnant no matter how unlikely this may be or how careful they plan to be. This is because of the risks of birth defects.
