Huge congratulations to CNWL’s Hillingdon Employment Specialist, Ron Hoogland, for receiving our Employee of the Month and Hidden Gem award.
Ron was nominated by a service user for always going above and beyond to help them over the past few years and especially during difficult times such as the pandemic.
The service user said:
“Ron’s support and encouragement over the last couple of years has been amazing. He has gone over and beyond to help me.
During the height of the Pandemic, where I would not leave my house, Ron would pick up my prescriptions and sort out mistakes in my medication with my GP. He would knock at the door and leave them for me - with just a wave of thanks from my window!
As the pandemic got better and my fear of going out worsened, he encouraged me to go out for a walk. We would go to my local park, along the canal and even walked to Little Britain Lake. This helped my mental health immensely as I wasn’t in contact with anyone. He also arranged the check in and chat with a volunteer with weekly phone calls. Ron has spent lots of time supporting me with form filling for PIP, and phone calls and attending assessments which was successful.
I think Ron deserves recognition for all his hard work, I do say thank you all the time, but he always jus says ‘it’s ok, you’re welcome, it’s my job’. I don’t think he realises how much I have appreciated all his support. Not only do I think he is a gem, I think he is a diamond!”
