Service description

The Oncology Psychology Service is based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The service provides a fast response to patients at the hospital who have been diagnosed with cancer, and are at various stages of treatments and recovery. 

In accordance with National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines the service provides ‘Level 4’ assessments and interventions for patients presenting with a range of difficulties, and who would benefit from specialist interventions such as Cognitive Behavioual Therapy (CBT) or psychiatric input. The service works alongside the MacMillan support service. 

NICE guidelines stipulate different levels of assessments. This service provides it at Level 4

Psychiatrists also offer treatment within this service.

Patients at the hospital who have been diagnosed with cancer, and are at various stages of treatments and recovery. 

Patients can be referred from the ward or via their GP.
