Rachel is a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). She has experience in a variety of mental health settings and in systemic family work. Rachel provides eating disorder training for AMHP’s and has worked at Vincent Square since 2018.

Dr Kan graduated in medicine from University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.  She then completed her psychiatric training at South London & Maudsley NHS Trust.  In addition, she was a Novo Nordisk UK Research Foundation Clinical Research Fellow and Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London. 

She has a PhD in genetic epidemiology and published over 40 peer-reviewed publications in mood and eating disorders. Before joining Vincent Square, Dr Kan worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in general adult psychiatry at North London.

Claire is Service Manager for the Adult Therapy and Community Teams, STRIDES (Primary Care) Team, and The Children and Young People (CYP) Community Team. She qualified as a mental health nurse in Ireland 15 years ago, before making the move to London. And she has an extensive background in eating disorders having worked at Vincent Square Eating Disorder Service for over 13 years in a variety of clinical, leadership and management roles.

She first started working on the inpatient ward as a staff nurse before being promoted to Deputy Ward Manager. After 5 years, she moved to the Liaison Team within the outpatient service. During this time, Claire also did a 1-year secondment with the Children’s and Young People Service as a specialist clinical practitioner, gaining clinical experience of working with this age group.

Claire has a clinical interest in the use of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in the treatment of eating disorders and has successfully completed a post graduate diploma in CBT for severe mental illness specialising in CBT for eating disorders through UCL in recent years.

Interesting facts about Claire: Claire is a big music fan, regularly attending gigs and festivals. She has also recently rekindled her childhood love of Irish Dancing through a local Adult Irish Dancing School.

Maria Giulia is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the CAMHS Community Eating disorder Service.

Maria Giulia completed her degree in Medicine and Specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry in Italy and retrained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the South London and Maudsley Foundation Trust rotation.

She obtained a MSc in Clinical Nutrition and Eating Disorder at UCL graduating with distinction and she is currently completing her doctorate (MDres) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, KCL (Eating Disorders Group, Psychological Medicine Department).

Maria Giulia is actively involved in research and teaching. She has published a number of peer reviewed articles and chapters and has presented her work both nationally and internationally.

Dr Gabrielle Brady is the Lead Psychologist and Team Lead for the Adult Therapy Team at Vincent Square Eating Disorder Service. She is responsible for the leadership, organisation, and delivery of psychology and psychotherapy services across the adult pathway.

Gabrielle has worked in the field of eating disorders for over 16 years and joined Vincent Square in 2013. She has specialist expertise in the assessment, formulation, and treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring psychological and physical health difficulties, and has extensive experience delivering evidence-based therapies for complex and severe presentations.

In addition to her core clinical training, Gabrielle is an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapist and a certified nutritionist. She has presented at international conferences and contributed to both qualitative and quantitative research in the field of eating disorders.

Laura is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist working clinically in the STRIDES (Support to Recovery in Disordered Eating) 18-25 team, as well as supporting psychological therapies across Vincent Square.

She completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Kings College London in 2009 and worked with adolescents with complex emotional needs in inpatient and community settings before specialising in eating disorders in 2016. Her special interest is early intervention approaches to eating disorders.

Katie graduated in medicine at King’s College London. She was dually trained in General Adult Psychiatry and Medical Psychotherapy at South London and Maudsley, where she subsequently worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Eating Disorders prior to joining Vincent Square. Katie has published a number of peer reviewed articles and chapters in Eating Disorders. She is the Regional Representative for Eating Disorders in the London Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Katie has also worked as a Consultant Medical Psychotherapist and is experienced in a range of psychotherapeutic modalities.
