You will be aware that having listened to patients, carers and staff over the past year on what matters to them, we have an ambition for CNWL to become a Trust which is outstanding for safety – delivering safe care for patients and for staff.
Whilst safety is everyone’s responsibility, we know that more is needed to really embed this thinking in all we do and our Big Safety Conversation on Thursday 12 November is part of that.
The NHS Patient Safety Strategy (2019), requires all Trusts to identify a Patient Safety Specialist and we are delighted to announce that Jack Pooler, the Assistant Director of Safety, has been appointed.
Jack will work closely with clinical teams and the senior leadership of the Trust to provide expert knowledge and support to all patient safety work in CNWL, leading on all safety improvement activities, to truly embed a positive safety culture, including systems thinking, human factors and learning in our patient safety processes. He will also network with external partners to bring learning and best practice into CNWL.
We are sure you will want to support Jack in this crucial role so that together, we can achieve our ambition.
