n October 2020 we took part in the Royal College of Psychiatrists Serious Incident Review Accreditation Network (SIRAN) for our serious incidents process. We are pleased to announce that following submission of evidence and a peer review, the Royal College's Accreditation Committee informed us this week that our SI process has been successfully accredited.
The College informed us that we are one of only two Trusts to be the first to receive this kind of accreditation from them. This is an incredible achievement for the Trust. The accreditation is for 3 years from 18 January 2021 – 18 January 2024, subject to a satisfactory interim review to take place around July 2022.
We would like to extend our thanks to not only the central SI Team but to the divisional teams that helped us to achieve this incredible result.
Joe Nhemachena, Head of the SI Team, commented: “It has always felt like a team effort from the start with the workshops we held, sharing ideas and implementing change. We couldn’t wait to share this great news with the divisional teams to express our gratitude to you all.”
