CNWL's Chief Nurse, Maria O'Brien, hosted a virtual event today, together with CNWL's divisional nursing directors, Kim Cox, William Sakala and James Smith to celebrate International Nurses Day.

They were joined by over 100 nurses from a range of services across the Trust.

If you missed it you can watch it back at this link and below

Maria, who has been a nurse for 40 years, sent a message to all nurses this morning too. In the message Maria said,

"I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do every day, here at CNWL in every service, location and borough.

That thanks goes to those working on the Bank too and the wider nursing family, a huge part of the CNWL Nursing Team.

ImageI know many of you have been marking the week – I saw some fantastic pictures from our Milton Keynes Community nurses (left). Keep them coming in today

We are in the most amazing profession and let’s use the opportunity to encourage the next generation of people who may not have thought about coming into nursing to join a career for life that can take you in any direction and all over the world.SERV_NURS_1820_NursesBadge_30mm (2).jpg

We have our own CNWL Nursing badge that you designed; wear it proudly today and every day."

At the event nurses said what makes them proud to be a nurse and the directors of nursing talked about the three pillars of CNWL’s Nursing Strategy

  • Commitment to Provide Holistic Care
  • Developing Nurses to Provide the Best Care
  • Pride in Who We Are
