Throughout the Covid pandemic, an enormous fight back was organised across the health and social care system. The nurses, other professionals and volunteers rightly featured in the media reports of the biggest vaccination program in British history.

There was of course a massive operation to get these centres ready and in North West London, QTS (the wholly owned subsidiary of CNWL, who manage all our buildings, leases, maintenance, transport and housekeeping services) used their skills and expertise to successfully establish and service 12 vaccination hubs.

A network of vaccination sites, including large centres, hospital hubs and smaller community-based sites, was required to provide safe and easy access to this vaccination programme for the whole population. The scale of the challenge was enormous.

QTS was involved in the programme from September 2020, with the objective to identify, prepare, and deliver 12 vaccination hubs across North West London.

QTS worked closely with trusted contractors to provide an end-to-end solution, from initial site identification and the opening of the first vaccination sites in December 2020, through to ongoing facilities management.

See the case study here.

Claire Murdoch CBE, Chief Executive of CNWL, said, “I pay my own tribute to the ‘backroom girls’ and boys’ who actually deliver so much for front line services to work in. QTS have an expertise that has fundamentally assisted in this very successful public health campaign. Today we tell the story of what they did. Well done and thank you to them.”

Pippa Nightingale MBE, who oversaw the Vaccination Programme for NWL said,

“QTS have always been helpful in working at pace to deliver the vaccine centres across North West London (leases and licences, security, marshals, cleaning services, clinical waste etc.)  against a backdrop of an incredibly tight programme and fluid brief.

They have always been very responsive and go the extra mile to provide a reliable and well run service; nothing is too much trouble, often in difficult circumstances.  They are also providing support to the numerous popups, including the large events at places like Chelsea Football Ground and Wembley, as well as the transport to support the vaccination programme to schools, house bound and care homes.

This has all been carried out with the same level of dedication and excellent delivery.

We couldn’t have done it without them.”
