Join One Community Radio on Friday 12 February at 1pm as we come together to celebrate LGBT+ History month.

One community radio is proud to be a part of the Trust’s LGBT+ history month programme this year and to celebrate the memory of those who have fought oppression and enabled positive change.

During the show we will be joined by Shamal Waraich, CNWL’s Pride@CNWL Staff Network Diversity Lead and Senior Peer Support Worker in the Trust’s Sexual Health Service. Shamal will be talking about the Trust’s new progress rainbow badge and queer religiosity and spirituality as he discusses his documentary My God I’m Queer.

Madi GianFrancesco, Pride@CNWL Non-binary Lead and Social Worker in Westminster leads a conversation about Trans and non-binary history. Madi will be raising awareness about how we need to keep speaking up about injustices happening today, ensuring the progress that’s been made continues to grow and get better through activism and showing activism can’t just be done online.

For our recovery slot this week we will be joined by Becky Harris and Kieran Finnerty from the Club Drug Clinic, together they will be telling us about how the Club Drug Clinic provides support for the challenges that can affect patients from the LGBT+ community.

We’ll be having Q&A’s at various points in the show, so if you have a question about any of the topics we’re discussing please ask.

As always, our fantastic regular guests will be joining in, Evvy Miller reading Life of Pi, Laura Cavill our Poet Laureate with her own composition and writer Stewart Permutt will be reading a poem of his choice.

Please join us for an hour at 1pm and 15 minutes on Friday 12 February by following the link or typing the meeting ID into Zoom, both are below:
