Following an application process open to clinicians across West London NHS Trust, Central and North West London NHS FT and Ealing Integrated Care Partnership, we’re delighted to inform you that Dr Deborah Bird and Dr Kemi Bako have been appointed to share the role of Lead Clinician in the community children’s services in Ealing Community Partners.
Together Deborah and Kemi will work in conjunction with operational managers to ensure that high quality, safe and effective care is provided to children and their families, and both spoke in their interviews of their commitment to further developing the integrated model of care within the Ealing Service for Children with Additional Needs (ESCAN).
Kemi and Deborah joined the Ealing Child Development Team as Consultant Community Paediatricians in 2017.
Deborah current leads the Social Communication service and Kemi leads on Education and Training.
Together they’re looking forward to taking on new challenges as joint Community Paediatric Lead Clinicians, and working closely with each other, the ESCAN family and with colleagues across ECP and both Trusts.
Zoe Sargent, Associate Director in ECP and Children’s Strategic Lead in CNWL said: “at their interviews Deborah and Kemi gave us confidence that they would work closely and complement each other’s skills, and both were strongly committed to preserving integration and multidisciplinary working to benefit families in Ealing, and had positive ideas for service improvement”.
Dr Christopher Hilton, Clinical Director for Integrated Care Services including ECP said: “I’m delighted that Deborah and Kemi will be joining the Senior Management Team in ECP, alongside Shabnam Sharma as Head of Children’s Services, to give a strong voice for children, young people and families at a time that we’re hoping to focus on the recovery of our services after the disruption of Covid and to renew our plans to transform and improve them”.
