During our special International Nurses Day webinar, we reflected on all the fantastic work our wide nursing family do. Whether you are a qualified nurse, a nursing associate, healthcare assistant or support worker thank you to all of you who give so much to the NHS.

Despite a challenging year, nurses continue to make such a difference every day and everywhere.

Speaking at the webinar, our Chief Nurse Maria O’Brien, gave a message of appreciation, celebrating the wonderful contributions from our diverse CNWL nursing teams.

Maria had this to say:

“I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Nursing has been at the forefront of this last year and you have all been incredibly committed and unfailing in your compassion and your care. I know that each and every one of you have embodied the values of the Trust and you should all be really proud that nursing - not just in this Trust - but nationally has stood up and lead the way.

“I love working in CNWL because we are such a different organisation, and whether you work in our mental health services, our learning disability services, our children’s services, our adult services, our prisons, our sexual health services, do we see some absolutely fantastic care.

“We sincerely thank you for all of your hard work day-in day-out. We are in the most amazing profession and let’s use the opportunity to encourage the next generation of people who may not have thought about coming into nursing to join a career for life that can take you in any direction and all over the world.

“I wish you a very happy Nurses Day!”

Across our sites many teams celebrated International Nurses Day, and we have put together a slideshow showing pictures and messages from the events.
