Next week (2 to 8 November 2020) marks Occupational Therapy (OT) Week.

OT Week is about encouraging the next generation to a pursue a career in occupational therapy.

Occupational therapy provides practical support to empower people to facilitate recovery and overcome barriers preventing them from doing the activities (or occupations) that matter to them. This support increases people's independence and satisfaction in all aspects of life.

Occupational therapy takes a “whole-person approach” to both mental and physical health and wellbeing and enables individuals to achieve their full potential.

We have been talking with our OT staff who have been telling us their journey to becoming an OT and why they chose this profession.

We start with Natasha Powell, our SIM Hillingdon Clinician /OT Care Coordinator, who was recently featured in the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) magazine talking about why she came an OT.

You can read the article online and Natasha's case study with accompanying video here.

Follow @CNWLNHS and the hashtag #ChooseOT throughout the week for more OT stories.
