NHS North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for planning and buying high quality services for local people in the boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington. The CCG is committed to involving and engaging users of services and residents in the work they do, ensuring this reflects the diversity of the communities that they serve.
The CCG is working in partnership with community and mental health service providers, primary care (GPs), local authorities, voluntary and community sector, service users, carers and residents, to review community and mental health services.
Community health services provide support across a range of needs and age groups but are most often used by children, older people, those living with frailty or chronic or long term conditions and people who are near the end of their life. Examples of community health services include; district nursing, falls services, podiatry (for foot problems), diabetes specialist service, pain management and blood testing.
Mental health services offer care and support to children, young people and adults depending on the level of mental health need, from talking therapies for common mental health conditions, like anxiety and depression, through to severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
The CCG wants to develop a ‘core service offer’ for users of both community health services and mental health services. This will set out clearly what you can expect to receive from these services as a minimum regardless of where you live.
To help inform these reviews and to shape the core service offer, the CCG is inviting residents of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington to share their thoughts about these services either as a service user or carer.
