CNWL’s Quality Improvement Team held a training session for medical trainees this week. 50 trainees from across the Trust took part in the virtual session with great success, one trainee wrote “This is one of my favourite presentations since joining CNWL thus far, I’m sure it’s going to be greatly beneficial”.
This is the first time CNWL has launched a QI training session geared specifically towards medical trainees. Medical staff are intrinsic to the success of the Trust’s QI programme with many ideas for QI projects coming from medical staff in the Trust’s wards and services. Dr Cornelius Kelly, CNWL’s Chief Medical Officer, introduced the session and said, “QI speaks to the purpose of clinicians, it helps us to do our own job better, the things that brought us into medicine in particular, it makes us deliver good care to patients and that’s what we are interested in. It’s not just change for change sake, it’s for improvement”.
