Staff from CNWL’s Milton Keynes 0 – 19 Universal Service donated 64 selection boxes for the local foodbank to help both local families and boost staff wellbeing.

The amount was amassed over a three-week period and handed over to Foodbank MK as part of the organisation’s Santa’s Selection Box Scheme at the Foodbank distribution centre in Stacey Bushes.

The service decided to help out to help increase staff wellbeing. The wellbeing group within the 0-19 service identified five key areas, which may help to increase staff wellbeing following a very difficult year for everyone.  These areas were Connect, Be active, Keep learning, Take notice and Give.

The service decided to start with Give, and because it signposts clients to the local foodbank frequently it decided to help with their campaign.

One of the service’s Health visitors, Jane Chapman from the East locality handed the donations over to a volunteer.

The service’s next challenge is “Be Active” and involves an inter-locality challenge with the team gaining the most number of steps in a three-working day period being declared the winners.

Team lead Gill Wagle said: “As many of our clients are needing support from foodbank at the moment, it was lovely for our service to be a part of helping our with a treat for the children.

“We are hoping that these small events and a little good natured team rivalry will help to build morale and teamwork within the service, whilst having a bit of fun at the same time.”
