Results from the second swab tests were given to the guests at Kents Hill Park Hotel on Tuesday 18 February, and all 118 guests tested negative for coronavirus for the second time.
The tests, which followed the first swabs taken on their arrival, were undertaken on Saturday (the sixth day of their stay) and indicate that it is unlikely that any of the guests have the virus. They will have one further test on Friday to confirm they remain negative for coronavirus.
Both guests and staff are continuing to take full infection prevention measures as a precaution. There continues to be no risk to staff at the facility or the wider public in Milton Keynes.
NHS and Public Health England staff met with guests on Monday to discuss their results and guests reiterated their thanks to the staff and all of those members of the community, who have donated books, games and toys, for making their stay comfortable.
We are talking to our guests about their departure from the hotel and will provide a further update in due course.
General advice to patients and the public on Coronavirus:
The advice to the public is to call NHS 111 now if they have been:
- to Wuhan or Hubei Province in China in the last 14 days (even if they do not have symptoms)
- to other parts of China, including Macau and Hong Kong, in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if it's mild)
- to Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Republic of Korea or Malaysia in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath (even if it's mild)
- in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus.
Anyone who meets the above criteria is advised not to go to a GP surgery, community pharmacy or hospital. Instead they should call NHS 111, stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.
