Members of the community in Coulsdon have supplied our nurses in prisons in Surrey with 70 draw string bags so they can keep their uniforms separate from other clothes prior to being washed in a washing machine separately.

All nurses are required to change into their own clothes at work if possible and to transport uniforms home in a bag to wash them separately from normal household linen.

Kirstie Clements, Interim Business and Administration Lead  for Surrey Prisons, said: “We’ve really seen a sense of community come out of all this.”
