CNWL’s Mental Health Service in Milton Keynes has decided to pause the launch of its new model of care because of Covid-19.
In a letter sent to colleagues and stakeholders, Lesley Halford, the Service Director for Mental Health in Milton Keynes said the service had taken the decision because: “We simply do not have enough staff available due to sickness and redeployment to other critical areas of the service to allow us to complete the necessary final tasks.”
Stressing that this is a pause only, she said: “We all know that this new model of care will be a big stride forward and will provide much better person-centred care for service users; but we do want it to work well. We have therefore decided to postpone the launch until 29 March 2021– a pause only – because of the current pandemic…”
She added that she was grateful for the efforts put in by staff and stakeholders.
“Without your combined input we would never have got here and I can assure you we are nearly there. We couldn’t have done it without all of you so thank you.”
