“It was just so good and helpful to be able to talk to someone. I think the most important thing for me, which stood out about the Check in & Chat is that I didn’t have to chase them. They chased me.

“Every week Asha would ring me up and we’d have such lovely conversations and she was just so understanding, supportive and she just gave me more confidence in myself.”

This is Zoe talking about her experience of CNWL’s Check in & Chat service, which she used following a period of low self-esteem and poor mental health.

She found it so useful that she wanted to share her experiences for other people.

“If you’re feeling that low and desperate you will only benefit,” she says and adds: “It just showed me that you are not alone and you don’t have to be alone and there is that support and you don’t have to be ashamed to use that.

“I would encourage, definitely encourage people to use the service. It really gave me hope in society. It’s done wonders for me and I know it can do wonders for other people too.”
