Anna Maratos becomes our new Head of Psychotherapy, on 21 February, succeeding Melinda Schneider.

Anna started her working life as a music therapist and during various forays into research and clinical leadership, eventually joined a twice-weekly analytic group as a patient. This was so helpful to her personal and professional life that she decided to train as a group analyst. She is now running analytic groups in private practice and leading the CNWL Pressing Pause training in Reflective Practice Facilitation.

She says: ‘I am looking forward very much to my new role and to working with family therapists, child and adult psychotherapists of all varieties, counsellors and group analysts, and closely with our medical psychotherapy cousins. I want to learn about your work and to provide us with meaningful opportunities for connection and learning; and for us to have an influential and helpful voice within the organisation.’

Dr Ryan Kemp, CNWL's Director of Therapies said;

“We are delighted to appoint Anna to this crucial role. She brings solid experience as a previous head of profession and a clinical director. But more than that she brings incredible energy and commitment to the role. Psychotherapists have a significant role to play in mental health services and Anna will be working to make sure CNWL is a great place for them to work”.
