After arriving in the UK from Ukraine and facing a mental health crisis, Anastasiia found hope and healing through One Community—a social support network run by CNWL. Through creative workshops, music, volunteering, and connection, she regained confidence, built friendships, and rediscovered her passions. Now a peer volunteer supporting others in crisis, Anastasiia’s journey shows the power of community spaces in mental health recovery. This Mental Health Awareness Week, her story reminds us that safe, inclusive places like One Community can help people rebuild their lives—with dignity, purpose, and support.
