On Friday 4 July we held the Paramedic CPD (Continuing Professional Development) day. We have 15 Paramedics in the Trust and they work in a variety of settings - Urgent Community response teams in Milton Keynes, Camden, Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea. We also have Paramedics working in Health and Justice settings (HMP High Down and Feltham YOI) and in our patient safety team delivering our staff life support training. They rarely get the opportunity to meet with other paramedics in the trust.
The team got together at CNWL Trust HQ and had the opportunity to network, have professional development discussions and for Paramedic specific training on a range of interesting topics from a wide range speakers.
We heard from the head of Primary and Urgent care at the College of Paramedics, Keech Hospice specialist Paramedics on Palliative and end of life care, the history of Paramedicine from Bob Fellows author and previous education lead in the college of Paramedics, Dr Ryan Kemp on compassionate leadership and Emma Nicklin on working with patients who have sensory integration needs.
