Ten alumni from CNWL’s 21st Century Leadership Programme came together to represent the Trust at Exercise Med Endeavour – a military-led team-building event designed to test resilience, communication, and decision-making under pressure.

Hosted by the British Army, the event brought together nine teams from NHS Trusts across the region. Over the course of an intense day of physical and cognitive challenges, the team demonstrated the strength of compassionate leadership in action.

CNWL finished second out of nine teams – a testament to their teamwork and leadership!

One participant reflected:

“It wasn’t just about competing – it was about connection, collaboration, and seeing how far we’ve come as leaders and as a team.”

The day also brought to life key human factors that are vital in both military and healthcare settings:

  • Situational awareness
  • Leadership and followership
  • Decision-making under stress
