Having the flu vaccine gives you the flu. |
No it doesn’t. The flu vaccine contains inactivated flu viruses, so it can’t give you the flu.

The flu vaccine protects you straight away. |
It usually takes about 10 days for you to be protected against flu after you get the jab.

I can’t spread the flu if I don’t have any symptoms. |
Not true! You could unknowingly come into work and spread flu to your patients and colleagues.

I’m pregnant, and the flu vaccine is dangerous for my baby. |
Not true! You can have the flu vaccine at any stage in pregnancy. The flu virus can make pregnant women very ill and cause added risks to the unborn baby.

Coronavirus is no worse than flu |
They are different! Covid-19 and the flu are caused by different viruses. Use the best protection you can – for flu that means getting a vaccine. |
