CNWL has published the Quality Account for 2024-25, which can be downloaded by clicking here.

The Trust’s Quality Account is our report to the public about delivering better and safer care, and what we have achieved in the last year.

The Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), a new approach to the way we respond to patient safety incidents with a focus on learning and improvement, has been implemented at pace since its launch last year. Our stakeholders have fed back positively on our flexible and responsive approach, and carers and staff tell us they feel PSIRF is compassionate and focused on human factors.

Highlights of the year include:

  • Our cultural framework SCARF (Safe, Compassionate, Accountable, Reflective and Fair) won a Health Service Journal (HSJ) Patient Safety Award for positive safety culture
  • Safety Month - we dedicated January to safety, showcasing local initiatives focused upon improving safety and reducing harm. Following these events, we have gone on to develop joint safety work with our local partners Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and West London NHS Trust
  • We launched our new Involvement Strategy in February 2025, which demonstrates our continued commitment to promote an open culture and to co-produce work with lived experience staff
  • For the second year running, we haven’t moved any of our patients out of area. It is much better for patients to remain connected to their families, communities and local care team and we are proud to have achieved this.

The CQC rating of CNWL as ‘Requires Improvement’ for safety is not good enough and the organisation will commit all in our power to drive safety in all that we do.

The opening statement from Chief Executive, Claire Murdoch said:

“I extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, whose compassion and commitment ensure we deliver safe, high-quality care tailored to the needs of our diverse community."
