In March 2020, the inpatient wards at the Gordon Hospital were rapidly closed as part of CNWL’s COVID-19 response for key reasons linked to quality of care provision, including serious concerns around risk for infection prevention and control. Due to the level 4 emergency status caused by COVID-19 and its impact, as with many frontline partners, CNWL found it necessary to make this decision rapidly and was not able to fully consult with local partners as per normal practice, and has been unable to begin a formal consultation process in the time since.
Provided national regulations allow, we are planning to start a formal consultation on the future of the Gordon later this year, but want to hear from you before then as part of an informal pre-consultation process. We know you may have questions or thoughts about the future of the Gordon, and are hosting an open virtual Q&A sessions to promote an open dialogue with stakeholders and the community.
See these documents https://www.cnwl.nhs.uk/news/westminster-city-council-considering-two-reports-cnwl-nhs-foundation-trust which include information on CNWL’s mental health offer, ensuring the needs of all patients- including Westminster residents- continue to be met appropriately, including key metrics for Westminster. Please do review these documents before the session so we can spend the majority of our time together talking through your thoughts, feedback, and questions.
You can send questions to cnwl.thegordon@nhs.net or bring them to the Q&A session.
