It is an honour to announce our recent cohort of the CNWL Chief Operating Officer (COO) Fellowship Programme.  

The programme is a one-year development opportunity for aspiring operational leaders. The programme is designed to enhance operational leadership skills, strategic thinking, and impact on patient care and staff experience. 

Beginning in May 2025, the cohort will spend the year participating in regular mentoring meetings, skills and development sessions and utilise the 21CLP strategic approach to develop their leadership development.  

A welcome event was held at CNWL HQ to welcome the cohort and start the programme.

Graeme Caul, Chief Operating Officer shared:

"I am thrilled to welcome each of you to the launch of the programme. This initiative is not just about developing leadership skills, it's about empowering you to make a significant impact within our Trust.

You will gain invaluable insights and create strong connections that will benefit both your personal growth and professional. Congratulations on being part of this exciting journey, and we look forward to witnessing the positive changes you will bring."

Ross Graves, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer and Divisional Manging Directors; Sabrina Philips, Vanessa Odlin and Mark Maguire were invited as mentors to share their wealth of experience and offer words of encouragement and support to the first cohort of fellows.

Programme leaders, Steff Kamara and Sara Pountney shared a short presentation with the Fellows on what they can expect throughout their time on the programme.

“I feel fortunate to be one of the first to embark on the Chief Operating Officer program. Thanks to Graeme Caul   for this initiative. I don’t take this opportunity lightly at all. I am looking forward to working with my mentor Sabrina Phillips, Managing Director (Jameson). I am also looking forward to the real time experience that I will gain, but more importantly using this experience to impact positively patient care and staff wellbeing.”
