The Hillingdon Addictions Recovery Community (ARCH) welcomed a special guest, Danny Beales, Local Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, who toured the facility and met with staff.
Danny, who was raised in Hillingdon and has personal experience of homelessness, spent time engaging with the dedicated teams behind ARCH’s wide-ranging services. His visit included a walk-through of the physical health and wellbeing clinic, the needle exchange facility and the service’s vibrant, service user-maintained garden.
During the visit, Danny spoke with various staff members, including those working on smoking cessation initiatives and with rough sleepers.

With a significant interest in healthcare, Danny previously served as Head of Policy and Campaigns at the National AIDS Trust. Prior to becoming an MP last year, he worked in local government for ten years adding valuable perspective to discussions around health policy and community outreach.
Dr Jeffrey Fehler, Addictions Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist at ARCH, reflected on the significance of the visit:
"Jaya Karira (Addictions Area Manager) and I were really touched that Danny chose to visit us. Danny was interested to hear about the complex nature of the work we do as well as treatment innovations, research initiatives and the strength of our relationships with key partners locally."
