Dr Jeff Fehler, Clinical Director for Addictions at CNWL, recently attended INHSU 2025 – an international conference focused on improving healthcare for people who use drugs.
Held in Cape Town, the event brought together researchers, clinicians, harm reduction experts, policymakers, and people with lived experience.
The poster focused on our Hounslow service, which has achieved and sustained micro-elimination for over two years. That means everyone using the service is offered a test, and to facilitate treatment when the virus is identified.
Dr Fehler said:
“Presenting at INHSU was a chance to show what we’ve achieved with our partners – hepatology services in North West London, Hep C U Later, the Hepatitis C Trust, and Gilead Sciences. It’s been a real team effort and together we have achieved micro-elimination in all our services.”
He added:
“It was also a personal highlight for me. The conference was held in my native South Africa. I learnt a lot from colleagues there – especially about how they’re tackling similar challenges.”
