The Older Person’s Assessment Service (TOPAS) at CNWL proudly took part in the NHS Big Tea this month to raise funds for CNWL NHS Health Charity. The team hosted their first ever fundraising event - and it was a sweet success.
With cakes, bakes, and cups of tea, both staff and patients came together to prepare for the occasion. Items were lovingly baked and sold, with all proceeds going directly to the charity, which supports initiatives to improve care and wellbeing across CNWL services. They raised a fantastic, £266!
David Jones, Activity Coordinator on Topas Ward said:
“For me, seeing our patients get involved in the baking for our first fundraiser brought such a special energy to the ward. Alongside staff, they helped create something really joyful, and it was amazing to see families, colleagues, and even members of our local community come along to show their support.
What made it even more special for me was knowing that everyone’s efforts — especially our patients’ — will go towards improving the experience for future patients, people they may never meet, but whose time with us will be made that little bit brighter because of this.
It’s a wonderful thing to be part of, and I feel lucky to have been a part of making this happen. Moments like these are a real reminder of the power of community.”
Thank you TOPAS!
