Become a CNWL bank worker

By joining the CNWL Temporary Staffing Service it is a great opportunity to work for us. You can enjoy the choice of flexible shifts and career opportunities, a healthier work-life balance, and the ability to gain experience in a number of our teams and services.

We recognise the importance that our temporary staff plays in the successful delivery of our services at CNWL. This service helps us to deliver safe, quality services at exceptionally busy times and to cover for staff absences at short notice.

Why join the Bank?

By joining our staff bank you will benefit from the following:

  • Receive many benefits such as a pension, weekly payment, paid training, supervision
  • If you work for us through our staff bank you will be paid a week in arrears on a Thursday. Your rate of pay will depend on your banding and the area you will be working in.
  • Benefit from flexibility to suit your lifestyle. You are in charge and can choose to do full-time, part-time or ad-hoc hours. You are in full control and can select your own shifts
  • Be a real part of the workforce, not just a temporary worker
  • Gain experience in a wide range of settings, helping to build your own career and development
  • Get paid at excellent bank rates (includes annual leave entitlement in all rates)

The registration process will include an interview and you will be required to visit one of our nearby sites to verify your identity in person. Depending on your role, you may also be asked to complete some basic tests. The process is as follows:

  1. Complete our online application form
  2. Our recruitment team will invite you to interview
  3. Complete remote pre-employment checks and online mandatory training
  4. You will be set up on Bank and be ready to work

We estimate the recruitment process will take two to four weeks from the date of your interview. If you’re already an employee at the Trust, there’s a fast-track process for joining the staff bank. You can register for the bank via NHS Jobs.
