It’s World AIDS Day on 1 December when, people around the world unite to show their support for people living with HIV, raise awareness of how to get tested and commemorate those who have sadly lost their lives to AIDS. To help bring attention to this important issue, Dr Laura Waters, CNWL’s HIV Lead and GU Consultant at Mortimer Market Centre, has recorded a short presentation – talking about the past, the present and the future of HIV.

Irfaan Mann, former Clinical Research Fellow at CNWL’s Mortimer Market Centre has co-authored a research article for the online journal Current Opinion in Infectious Diseases. The research article seeks to review data on the treatment and prevention of mpox in people with HIV.

The NCL PrEP Programme was established to support the routine rollout of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis on the NHS in Barnet, Camden, Haringey and Islington. Established by CNWL, the local provider of sexual health services, the programme developed a health-inequities-informed strategy that prioritises target demographics on the basis of PrEP need.

CNWL Sexual Health Services have launched two new Q&A videos about PrEP, the free medication that protects people who are HIV-negative from contracting the virus. CNWL provides PrEP at three clinics in North Central London – Mortimer Market Centre, Archway and Edgware Community Hospital – and from clinics in Surrey.
